New movie tonight! New movie tonight (Saturday, August 1)!  Set your DVRs and get that popcorn popped because tonight’s the first night of the new Summer Nights movies on Hallmark Channel! (can you tell I’m excited?)  Tonight is “Romance in the Air,” a movie that features some beautiful scenery and hot air balloons.

The movie stars Hallmark favorite Cindy Busby (famously from the Darcy movies) and Torrance Coombs who I know as Bash on “Reign” but others probably know him as Declan from “The Originals” or even Hallmark’s 2018 movie, “Royally Ever After.” Brittany Wiscombe wrote “Romance in the Air.” She also wrote “Timeless Love” which just aired a couple months ago despite being made in 2019, as well as an upcoming Christmas movie that may or may not end up on Hallmark’s roster.  Director Brian Brough is at the helm, and it appears that this writer and director work together on most of their projects, which makes sense since they are both with Candlelight Media Group out of Utah.

Here is the plot of “Romance in the Air,” according to Hallmark Channel:

After learning her job is on the line, Eden returns to Lake Tahoe where she used to spend her summers growing up. There she’s reunited with her childhood friend Riley and finds that the draw of her past might direct her future to a happiness she’s been missing in her life.

I’ve said before that I like movies where the love interests already know each other or have a history.  There’s something about that prior knowledge of each other that gives the characters’ journey to each other more realistic versus a “we just met it’s been three days I think I love you” kind of storyline.

Here’s a sneak peek clip of what we can expect tonight:

What do you think?  Are you excited about “Romance in the Air?”

I've been a fan of Hallmark movies for as long as I can remember. In 2018 I decided it was finally time to write about it, and thus this website was born.
