Hey there, y’all! Wondering where the reviews are? Still waiting on a review from Thanksgiving weekend? Well, it’s coming, I promise!
Thanksgiving weekend saw seven movies premiere in five days. For a family with four days of vacation around that holiday, that should be enough time to watch and review those movies. Alas, for MY family, Thanksgiving is dedicated to setting up the Christmas display in our yard. This year, despite not doing our dancing light show, it still took us three days to get set up (we have 12 inflatables and 55 lighted animals as well as a candy cane border and a few wreaths). That left little energy (or time!) to watch 4 movies, much less 7. So I finished the weekend three short.
So you’d think I’d get caught up this past weekend, but this past weekend was our annual White Elephant party. This was our 22nd year hosting. Friday is the day to clean the house and begin prepping, and Saturday is finalizing prepping and hosting the party. Sunday is a day of rest to recover from the prior two days. It was all I could do to stay up and watch “A Very Merry Bridesmaid” last night (and I’ll have to watch it again because I didn’t take notes). So now I’m six short.
But I can’t even say that I’ll be able to watch those six in time for new movies for the upcoming weekend, because on Thursday I leave for New Jersey to attend this year’s Christmas Con. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to watch three this week and be only three short by Thursday. Which means by next Monday I will officially be seven movies short.
You see where this is going? There are two movies I won’t be reviewing: “Making Spirits Bright” and “A Christmas Together With You.” But I did watch them and score them, with plans to update the rankings table to show where they ended up in the grand scheme of things. My hope is not to skip reviews of any others, if I can possibly help it!
So please be patient with me over the next couple of weeks. Once I’m back from NoNJ next week I have NO PLANS (other than my day job and celebrating Christmas) for the remainder of the year and will be able to dedicate my down time to watching movies!!
Thanks, everyone!
