A Preview of This Weekend’s Movies!

It’s weekend #3 and the first of the movies literally starts in the few minutes after I hit “post” on this. Here is a preview of the movies we’ll be enjoying this weekend on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Hallmark Channel:

A Magical Christmas Village, starring Alison Sweeney & Luke Macfarlane (Friday, November 4, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot: A Christmas Village brings the magic of Christmas to the lives of Summer and her family, healing old wounds and bringing new love to Summer and her family.

Written by Melissa Salmons, who seems to have an affinity for working with Alison Sweeney, since Salmons provided scripts on “Days of Our Lives,” “The Irresistible Blueberry Farm” and “Christmas in Holly Lodge,” which were all Sweeney shows/movies. Jason Furukawa directed, and it’s his first foray into Hallmarkland).

Lights, Camera, Christmas! starring Kimberly Sustad & John Brotherton (Saturday, November 5 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot: When a holiday rom-com movie shooting in her town needs a costume designer, Kerry, a local shop owner, steps into the role. While working on the movie, she rediscovers her passion for costume design and finds herself falling for Brad, the film’s famous leading man.

This movie just looks FUN.  Two great leads, a fun premise, and a little bit of cheeky meta-ness.  I’m in and for me this is the one to watch!

All Saints Christmas starring Ledisi & Roger Cross (Sunday, November 6 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot:  Lisette is a popular R&B singer who’s getting ready to travel home to New Orleans for Christmas. When the media mistake a photo of her with her music producer ex as an engagement announcement, her family insists that he join her on the trip.

Exes faking still being together!  This was a huge hit when they did this plot in last year’s An Unexpected Christmas so my fingers are crossed for this one as well. It’s a big cast, and I’m hoping for a fun, joyous movie with lots of great music.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

A Maple Valley Christmas starring Peyton List & Andrew Walker (Saturday, November 5at 10 p.m. ET)

Plot: Rancher Erica has spent her whole life working the family farm with her mother and sister. When Aaron arrives and disrupts her plans, she starts to question what it is she actually wants.

This sounds very familiar to a book that I read a few years ago, with some slight differences.  I enjoyed the book and will be curious to see if this movie is based on that (I haven’t researched yet to find out if it is).  I’m a huge Andrew Walker fan, so I’m looking forward to this one.

Of these four movie premieres, which ones are you looking forward to the most?  Comment below!

I've been a fan of Hallmark movies for as long as I can remember. In 2018 I decided it was finally time to write about it, and thus this website was born.
