A Preview of “Love on Harbor Island”

This weekend (Saturday, August 8) we have another new movie, “Love on Harbor Island,” which features Rowena’s Inn once again (some may recognize it from Holiday Hearts or  My Boyfriend’s Back: Wedding March 5).

The movie stars Morgan Kohan (Lillian from Hallmark’s “When Hope Grows” TV series) and Marcus Rosner. Lucie Guest both wrote and directed the movie.  If you think that name sounds familiar, it is!  Ms. Guest has acted in several Hallmark movies, including “The Mistletoe Inn,” “Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas”, and A Summer Romance. I liked her a lot in “Inn” so I’m hopeful that her experience acting in the movies allows her to tap into all the best things about Hallmark movies.

Here is the plot of “Love on Harbor Island”:

Interior designer Lily returns home to help her Aunt Maggie run her marina-side bed and breakfast when she meets Marcus, a handsome seaplane pilot whose work delivering rescue dogs helps Lily discover that home really is where the heart is.

I did not review last week’s “Romance in the Air” because it was very disappointing.  I watched the movie and once the closing credits rolled I knew that by the time I did a write up I’d forget most of the movie.  And that proved to be true.  However, I do remember a few things, most notably the over-use of a green screen throughout the movie, a lead character I did not care for, and bad chemistry between the romantic leads.  I felt it best not to rake the movie over the coals, but the ranking can be found on my overall rankings page (look near the bottom for it).

Having said that, I’m so, so hopeful that Lucie Guest has created a good movie this weekend.  Here’s a sneak peek clip of what we can expect tomorrow night:

I've been a fan of Hallmark movies for as long as I can remember. In 2018 I decided it was finally time to write about it, and thus this website was born.
