I really like Bethany Joy Lenz. She is one of those actresses that seems very authentic onscreen. I particularly enjoyed her movie “Poinsettias for Christmas” that was on the Lifetime network a couple years ago. And “Bottled With Love” last year was fun as well. I also really like Luke Macfarlane, and am surprised these two have not been paired up before in a Hallmark movie. Their first project together, “A Valentine’s Match,” airs Saturday, February 1 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.
I find it funny that even in February they can make a movie about a small town festival. I live in a small town and we’ve never had a Valentine’s Day festival.
Cara J Russell wrote this screenplay. She also wrote the Netflix movie, “Knight Before Christmas” starring Vanessa Hudgens. Christie Will Wolf directed this one – and she’s done a lot of Hallmark movies in the past, including “Over the Moon In Love” and “Harvest Love,” just to name a couple.
Here is the plot of “A Valentine’s Match,” as outlined from the Hallmark Channel website:
Fired from her job as a reality TV host, Natalie returns home for Valentine’s Day, only to find herself running the town festival’s auction with her ex-fiance thanks to two scheming mothers.
This one looks like a good one, thanks to a good cast and a capable director. Here’s a sneak peek clip of what we can expect on Saturday night:
The movie should be a solid beginning to our month of “Love Ever After” movies – these two actors usually get attached to really good projects. What do you think? Are you excited about “A Valentine’s Match?”

I’m a huge fan of Bethany, and hope this is a good one. Luke is great…I just don’t see those two together. Also really like Christie Will Wolf’s work, so my fingers are crossed!
Is anyone else distracted by the green leaves showing out the windows, in February in Oregon??? I love Hallmark movies, and totally want to believe the magic; but greenery in February is too far fetched for even a believer. Help me out here, please!
All the greenery didn’t distract me too much. My area is currently experiencing a very mild winter to the point where flowers are beginning to bloom and trees beginning to turn green again, so seeing all the flowers/trees in the movie wasn’t too jarring for me.
I love the movie A Valentines Match! They both are great! I bought the movie! I will be getting more .Bethany is a natural ! So is Luke !
