A Preview of This Weekend’s Movies!

The next batch of Countdown to Christmas and Miracles of Christmas 2022 movies has officially begun!  Here is a preview of the movies we’ll be enjoying this weekend on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Hallmark Channel:

A Cozy Christmas Inn, starring Jodie Sweetin and David O’Donnell (Friday, October 28, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot: Real estate exec Erika travels to Alaska during the holidays to acquire a bed and breakfast, only to discover it’s owned by her ex. Soon she is falling in love with the town and quite possibly him.

Written by Jennifer Notas Shapiro, who wrote the original movie for which this is sort of a sequel, “Christmas Under Wraps.” this movie brings back almost ALL the people involved in the original movie, including director Peter Sullivan and most of the actors.  This is the movie I’m most intrigued about this weekend, if only to see how they handle the CCB of it all (CCB = Candace Cameron Bure, of course).

Jolly Good Christmas starring Reshma Shetty and Will Kemp (Saturday, October 29 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot: Molly moves into Patrick’s apartment in London for Christmas and more and more sparks fly between them as they get to know each other, on Christmas day Molly gets a chance at a new life with a new love..

The travesty of this movie is that they should have cast someone else.  Will Kemp is BRITISH, for heaven’s sake.  WHY is Hallmark forcing him to portray an American in London?  Why not hire an actual American actor for the role?  OR, even better, have the American in London be a woman who gets shopping advice/help from a British buyer (who could have been Will Kemp)?  I like Will Kemp a lot, but I already know an American accent does not suit him, and that makes me mad. *lol*  Having said that, this is the one I’m most excited about this weekend.

Ghosts of Christmas Always starring Kim Matula and Ian Harding (Sunday, October 30 at 8 p.m. ET)

Plot:  Katherine, a Ghost of Christmas Present, helps a soul to rediscover his Christmas spirit, but this year has something unusual in store.

This one looks magical and light-hearted, which is everything I love about Hallmark Christmas movies.  This is the first Hallmark movie for both Kim Matula and Ian Harding, and looking at their IMDb profiles, I’m not familiar with either of them.  Despite this, the preview looks like they are good fits for Hallmark, and that this will be a fun movie.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

Christmas Bedtime Stories starring Erin Cahill and Steve Lund (Saturday, October 29 at 10 p.m. ET)

Plot: Danielle is left to raise her daughter after her husband goes MIA and is presumed dead. She begins to tell her daughter bedtime stories of her father.

I love Erin Cahill.  I think she sparkles onscreen and seems to be fun and yet vulnerable.  I’m worried about this movie because I feel like I pretty much know how it’s going to end, and that end is going to make me cry.  Perfect for HMM, right?  Have your tissues ready, folks!

Of these four movie premieres, which ones are you looking forward to the most?  Comment below!

I've been a fan of Hallmark movies for as long as I can remember. In 2018 I decided it was finally time to write about it, and thus this website was born.
