As faithful Hallmark fans will know, Hallmark airs an annual “Christmas in July” marathon of movies each summer. And this year is no different! Hallmark just announced this week that they are doing something new and different and I won’t lie – I love the idea!
Rather than just airing a bunch of random holiday movies, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are also hosting “theme” days or weekends, in which all the movies in a particular timeframe will be linked by something. I think it’s a fabulous idea! This year’s Christmas in July will go from June 25 through July 31 on Hallmark Channel, and June 25 – July 8 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Mixed in during the month are the following theme days/weekends:
HALLMARK CHANNEL: Friday, July 9-Saturday, July 31
Hallmark’s Greatest Hits (Saturday, July 24-Sunday, July 25)
Now this is going to be a great weekend of movies, not to be missed! Featured movies include at least three of my all-time faves:
- Crown for Christmas (Saturday, July 24, 7 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Danica McKellar and Rupert Penry-Jones - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Saturday, July 24, 9 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Brooke Burns, Henry Winkler and Warren Christie - The Nine Lives of Christmas (Sunday, July 25, 10 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Brandon Routh and Kimberley Sustad
A 2020 Movie Marathon (Saturday, July 10-Sunday, July 11)
For 24 hours we’ll get to see some of the favorites from the 2020 Christmas season. Just a few they’ve already announced include “Love, Lights, Hanukkah,” Christmas Comes Twice,” and “Christmas by Starlight.” Not only that, but on that Saturday night, July 10, they’ll be premiering a brand new movie, “Crashing Through the Snow,” starring Amy Acker, Warren Christie and Brooke Nevin.
A Soapy Sudsy Sunday (Sunday, July 18)
Hallmark loves to hire former (and current) soap opera actors in their movies, and the network decided to dedicate a day to them! On July 18, look for holiday movies starring such favorites as Cameron Mathison (The Christmas Club), Alison Sweeney (Good Morning, Christmas!), Chaley Rose, Jesse Metcalfe, Bethany Joy Lenz, Victor Webster and many more.
HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES: Friday, June 25-Thursday, July 8
Hallmark Loves Blake Shelton (Monday, June 28)
For one night we get a Blake Shelton production marathon with his three “Time For” movies:
- Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas (6 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Megan Park and Josh Henderson - Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (8 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Alison Sweeney and Lucas Bryant - Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas (10 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Lacey Chabert and Stephen Huszar
Music to My Ears (Friday, July 2)
Sometimes Hallmark likes to mix in some music with our merriment. What better way to celebrate than show off some of that talent? Although the marathon will run all day, the evening movies are currently listed as:
- Our Christmas Love Song (6 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Alicia Witt and Brendan Hines - The Christmas Bow (8 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Lucia Micarelli and Michael Rady - Christmas at Graceland (10 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Kellie Pickler and Wes Brown
Hallmark Supports the Troops (Saturday, July 3)
The day before Independence Day will be a salute to those who help us stay that way. Selections include:
- The Christmas Doctor (6 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Holly Robinson Peete and Adrian Holmes - USS Christmas (8 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Jen Lilley and Trevor Donovan - Deliver by Christmas (10 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Alvina August and Eion Bailey
Celebrating Family (Sunday, July 4)
On the Fourth of July, Hallmark encourages us to celebrate family. Some of the films will include:
- A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas (6 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Rachael Leigh Cook and Benjamin Ayres - Holly & Ivy (8 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Janel Parrish, Jeremy Jordan and Marisol Nichols - The Christmas Ring (10 p.m. ET/PT)
Starring: Nazneen Contractor and David Alpay
As June 25 gets closer I’ll be sure to post updates and schedule changes as able. But in the meantime, what movies do YOU hope they’ll air during Christmas in July 2021? Comment below!
