Fall Harvest is coming to an end, and I’m sad. I feel like I didn’t have enough time to revel in pumpkins and yellow leaves in my Hallmark movies! However, Fall Harvest coming to an end also means we’re reaching PEAK Hallmark – the Countdown to Christmas!!! But before we can do that, we get one last fall movie, starring two of my favorite Hallstars, Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker. It airs tomorrow, October 17 on Hallmark Channel.
The script was written by Tyler Straessle, who has quite a resume. While he has only written one other Hallmark script (Forever In My Heart – which is a very popular Hallmark movie), he has also worked on such popular TV shows as Parks & Recreation, The Good Place, and Master of None. I have HIGH HOPES that this movie might have a more comedic sensibility like Hallmark movies used to have. Additionally, the movie was directed by Gary Yates, who led such Hallmark movies as “One Winter Weekend,” “Pearl in Paradise” and My One and Only. This movie has PROMISE, is what I’m trying to say.
Here is the plot of “Sweet Autumn” as listed on the HC website:
Aunt Dee splits her candy shop between her niece, Maggie, and maple farmer, Dex. Following letters Dee left, the two uncover the reason for her decision, during the Sweet Autumn festival.
Before I make any more comments, I want to show you the sneak peek of what we can expect tomorrow night:
Of all the fall movies, this is the one I was most excited about. It has two Hallstars I live, a screenplay written by someone with some great background, and a solid Hallmark director. I think this one is going to be a winner.
What do you think? Are you excited about “Sweet Autumn?” Can you even get excited when the preview doesn’t even hint at the plot? I guess we’ll see tomorrow night!

I Adore Hallmark movies. When does the countdown to Christmas2020 begin and is that the day they start playing Christmas movies or how does it work please? 🎅🏻🌺🎄💁♀️
Starting this Friday, Oct 24 at 6 am is a one week marathon through Nov 2 of constant Xmas movies including FOUR new movies. After November 2, they’ll be premiering new movies every Saturday and Sunday through December 20. Thanksgiving week they’ll premiere a new movie every night. Lastly, Christmas Day is the When Calls the Heart movie.
