I’m excited for the latest Bethany Joy Lenz movie, “Just My Type,” that will debut this Saturday evening, March 28 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel. She very rarely has a “miss” in my opinion, and while the “author has a secret identity” plotline has been done before, the fact is that Lenz is such a joy to watch on screen that I don’t care that we’ve seen a similar movie before from Hallmark.
Paul Ziller directed “Type” and has worked exclusively on Hallmark movies for the past few years. He previous helmed Love in Store and 2018’s Jingle Around the Clock, among others. Supposedly this was written by the same writer that penned The Secret Ingredient, S.W. Sessons.
Here is the plot of “Just My Type,” as outlined from the Hallmark Channel website:
Pop culture writer and aspiring novelist Vanessa Sills lands the interview of a lifetime with the illustrious, elusive and reclusive mystery author Martin Clayborne in his quaint rural town only to realize her own aspirations, dreams and romantic life have taken a back seat along the way. When Vanessa returns home to Portland and a mysterious gift arrives from Martin, she then makes a surprise decision, and finally takes her own advice to “go boldly in the direction of your dreams and live the life you imagine.”
We’re finally moving into the portion of the year where we have movies every weekend again, and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s a sneak peek clip of what we can expect on Saturday night:
