Hallmark For All Seasons

I really hope “Love in Winterland” does well considering all the trouble it’s gone through in the past few months.  Originally called “Alice in Christmasland” AND slated as a 2019 Countdown to Christmas movie, they changed the name to “Alice in Winterland,” but yanked it from the schedule.  Then it was retitled “Winter Inn Love” but still with no air date.  And then it changed its name again to “Love in Winterland” and was finally slated for Winterfest 2020, with the air date being this Saturday, January 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

This poor movie.  This poor, poor movie.  It FINALLY made it to air and I hope after all that it is a good movie!  I can only think that it was removed from the Countdown movies because enough rewrites were done that it didn’t have anything to do with Christmas despite being a winter setting.  I don’t know that for a fact, so DON’T quote me – that’s just my assumption!  It could have been any number of things that made this movie bounce around so much.

The movie stars THREE Hallmark actors, Jack Turner (of last summer’s Forever in My Heart), Italia Ricci (from last year’s Rome in Love), and fan favorite Chad Michael Murray (most recently from Write Before Christmas).  Here is the plot of “Love in Winterland,” as outlined from the Hallmark Channel website:

Ally, a final contestant on a dating show, must face her high school sweetheart when she is chosen for the Hometown Date.

Last year we had two other “tv dating show” type movies in Love, Take Two and My One and Only!  I know that I liked “Only” but felt that “Two” fell flat, so there’s no telling where “Winterland” will end up in the trio.

As I said, I am really rooting for this one and hope it does well.  I think it will mainly because of the three actors involved with it – they have big fanbases. What do you think?  Are you excited about “Love in Winterland?”
