A Preview of “Holiday for Heroes”

Thursday means new movie tonight (be sure to tune in to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries for “A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas” at 9 p.m. ET)!  But it also means we’re fast approaching even more movies we need to preview.

Airing on Friday, November 8 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Movies Mysteries Channel is “Holiday for Heroes” starring Hallmark favorite Marc Blucas and Melissa Claire Egan. I adore Marc Blucas (he starred as Riley in season four of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and while his character didn’t get much credit, I did like him a lot) and so I’m always excited when I see he has been added to the cast of any Hallmark movie (I loved him in “Miss Christmas” a couple years ago).

Hallmark loves their military heroes, and every year seems to air at least one movie that features in the military in some way. This movie’s plot is kind of similar to the Hallmark classic “The Christmas Card” which (for some weird reason I don’t understand) is beloved by most Hallmarkies.  Here is the plot of “Holiday for Heroes,” as outlined from the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries website:

After a year’s worth of letters exchanged between Audrey Brown and soldier Matt Evans, their worlds collide for the first time off the page. Will the spirit of the season bring Matt and Audrey’s love beyond their letters?

I’m a sucker for those online military homecoming videos that always go viral, and I predict I will cry at some point watching this movie.  I’m definitely looking forward to “Holiday for Heroes.”  Here’s a preview:

Isn’t he just adorable?  I have to admit I’m not too familiar with Melissa Claire Egan. I know she was on a soap opera back in the day, but other than that I don’t much about her.  Based on the preview alone, I think she’ll be a good match with Blucas.

Do you like Hallmark’s military movies like me?  Is this one you are looking forward to? Comment below!

I've been a fan of Hallmark movies for as long as I can remember. In 2018 I decided it was finally time to write about it, and thus this website was born.

  1. I loved this movie!!! My son was packing for a trip but was listening. I told him that he and I could watch the rest of the Christmas movies when he was home. He just laughed. Two Hallmarks later he was sitting with me commenting on the movie!😂

So, back to the movie. Melissa and Marc had great chemistry, it was touching, believable and shed some tears! A winner!

    1. I got a chance to watch this yesterday and will have my review up tonight. In two words: Loved it. LOVE that your son sat and watched them with you! My kids, as much as they complain about my Hallmark addiction, tend to do the same thing!
